Elizabeth Muehlbacher, MSW RSW

Hello there! Thank you so much for visiting my website and for taking the time to get to know a bit about me.

I am a grateful, compassionate and sometimes tired mother of 2 busy boys and an early-20’s stepdaughter. My husband and I have a passion for exploring new ideas and opportunities for growth and change, which basically sums up the path that we are on, both together and independently.

I grew up in Northern Ontario, moved around the province for a few years and finally settled in Grey County in the beautiful Georgian Bluffs near Wiarton, ON. I have a Master of Social Work degree obtained from the University of Windsor as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology & Psychology from the University of Ottawa.

Over the past 16 years, I have worked in many therapeutic settings, including the criminal justice system, addiction treatment, crisis, and in both hospital and community mental health settings. I have worked both directly and indirectly with marginalized populations and others who are struggling with life’s challenges.

I wanted to start my own journey as a private therapist not only to help others with their personal exploration, but to help myself. Private counselling allows the flexibility I need to fulfill my other life goals, both personal and professional, and be able to do the type of work I am most passionate about, which is supporting others in their personal healing journey. I believe that the key to healing is curiosity, compassion and community. My goal is to provide the support, skills and opportunities needed for mental wellness.

Please check out the Services page to learn more about how I might help you on your journey. This world is full of wonderful resources, including the ones you have inside you. I look forward to connecting and answering any questions you may have.

My warmest regards,

Liz
